We are seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical and programmatic support to the Development Integrated Product Team (IPT) within PMA-261, the program office responsible for the lifecycle management of the CH-53E and CH-53K aircraft. The engineer will play a critical role in advancing the development and integration of complex subsystems in support of the CH-53K platform, including software, avionics, propulsion, airframe, and mission systems. Primarily office-based with occasional travel to operational sites or industry partner locations. May include shipboard or hangar visits in support of fielded fleet systems.

Duties:



  • Provide systems engineering support for sustainment and modification projects related to in-service CH-53E/MH-53E aircraft.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action development for fleet issues and system failures.
  • Evaluate engineering changes, airworthiness directives, and maintenance planning documents.
  • Support integration and verification of avionics, propulsion, structural, and mission systems modifications.
  • Collaborate with government and contractor teams to define technical requirements, develop system solutions, and support implementation across the fleet.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), and Risk Management Plans.
  • Contribute to Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Technical Review Boards (TRBs), and Fleet Support Teams.
  • Provide technical input for the In-Service Support strategy, including Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) mitigation and obsolescence management.
  • Support logistics and sustainment planning, including life cycle cost analysis and performance metrics.


Required Experience:




  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or technical program support within the defense or aerospace sector.



  • Familiarity with NAVAIR and DoD acquisition and sustainment processes.



  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles (e.g., requirements management, risk management, systems integration).




  • Experience with technical data packages, engineering change proposals (ECPs), and airworthiness assessments.




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo, or similar.




  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional IPT environment.




  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.





Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.


Desired Qualifications:



  • May require a master's degree

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-881, NAVAIRINST 5000.20, or related standards.



  • Exposure to logistics support analysis (LSA), Integrated Product Support Elements (IPSEs), and Sustainment Maturity Assessments (SMA).



  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering environments.




Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $77,57.36-$155,142.72 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
