OverviewOneDrive and SharePoint are rapidly growing services at the center of Microsoft's cloud, interacting with almost every part of the company. You would be a part of a team that is fundamentally changing the way that millions of people use their devices and interact with the most important content for their home, work, and school. We are looking for a smart, agile, and intellectually curious Senior Software Engineer who loves creating and building things that delight and protect our customers. You will be working with a team of amazing engineers and working closely with other teams across Microsoft to secure large-scale distributed architectures that deliver OneDrive and SharePoint's core infrastructure needs. You will join a team whose mission is to protect the world's most valuable data by making security failures less likely and less impactful. You will design, develop, deploy, and monitor mitigations that counter threat actor techniques. You will partner with engineers across the company to identify and reduce risk in features that are under development. You will also leverage threat intelligence, incident reports, and your understanding of Microsoft's systems to identify new risks that need mitigation. ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. | |
