Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Albany, GA team. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the operating performance of the lumber site including environmental, health and safety, operations, and maintenance.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, build, and maintain relationships with support resources to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, human resources, and other policies and procedures.
  • Develop and execute profit driven site plan that leverage capabilities and maximize division value.
  • Develop and implement operating systems and work processes consistent with management philosophy and framework.
  • Coordinate with support functions (EH&S, HR, Accounting) and commercial personnel to assure plans and resource deployment are aligned with business objectives.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies that yield sustainable results.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor staff through effective use of continuous feedback and open communication and ensure that all direct reports are properly trained in their necessary duties and suggest training to improve required job skills.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Five (5) or more years of managerial leadership experience (with direct reports) in a manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience developing production goals

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a business, science, or engineering discipline preferred
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L statements
  • Five (5) or more years of managerial leadership experience (with direct reports) in a wood products manufacturing environment
  • Equipment reliability experience
