Azure Storage is a foundational service in the Azure Cloud which powers six key storage services: Blob Storage, Table Storage (NoSQL Key-Value store), Queue Storage, Data Lake Storage, File Storage, and Disk Storage. These services host data from some of the largest companies in the world and support all of Microsoft's largest online businesses including Xbox, Office365, and Bing while scaling to store many exabytes of customer data. You can read more about the service architecture here and the current storage offerings here.The Microsoft Azure Storage team is seeking a technically proficient Principal Software Engineer with solid design, coding, and testing skills, to develop strategy for and implement validation infrastructure services, and automate validation of Azure's massive, distributed storage system. We value passion for scalable storage, distributed systems, and cloud services. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, along with strong debugging, testing, and analytical abilities. ResponsibilitiesPlay a crucial role in product quality by overseeing end-to-end scenario validation integration work performed by team members.Design, develop, and operate scalable, low latency and high throughput cloud services and frameworks to stress storage backend.Streamline release qualification process and lead efforts to fully automate the release pipeline with a relentless focus on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD).Take an active role and partner with peer teams and external partners to ensure new storage features meet target availability, security, and reliability goals, with an emphasis on quality upstream.Drive quality initiatives to streamline release quality gates and release pipeline. Support, mentor, and help engineers grow to build an inclusive team environment where everyone can deliver their best work.Support recruiting efforts to bring top talents to the team.Embody our culture and values. |
