Senior Control Systems Plant Engineer Job Function Summary As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to design, develop, and maintain advanced control systems that ensure the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of PGE's energy infrastructure. You will provide expertise in conceptual design, programming, and configuration of various systems including SCADA, metering, distribution automation, and plant control systems, contributing to PGE's commitment to clean energy and reliable service. A successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards, and technology trends, coupled with exceptional problem-solving and communication skills. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects that directly impact the energy landscape of Oregon, shaping the future of sustainable power distribution and management. In this role, you'll design, develop, install, manage and/or maintain generation plant controls systems that control and monitor systems, equipment and processes, ensuring these systems and processes operate efficiently, reliably and safely. Key Responsibilities Engineering Standards: Maintains currency in state-of-the-art engineering practices and provides guidance and direction on engineering processes and standards to colleagues as requested. Engineering Production: Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; coordinates multiple discipline activity. Production: Control Systems Function Develops procedures and job aids for design, configuration, operation and maintenance of the system. Production: Plant Control Systems Subfunction Designs, develops and manages generation plant control systems, instrumentation and other related equipment and machinery; reviews work of other engineers. Creates and maintains plant control system DCS network plans. Project Coordination: All Engineering Actively coordinates with other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects, including representing the team to interdepartmental stakeholders. Project Coordination: Plant Control Systems Subfunction Plans, develops and coordinates projects with complex design, construction, operation, maintenance or testing elements in support of engineering and construction needs of hydro, wind and thermal plants; provides accurate capital budget and job estimates. Education/Experience/Certifications Education Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. ABET-accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency preferred. Experience Typically five or more years in a related field or four or more years in related field with PE license. Environment - Indoor/Outdoor: Office, Plant, Field Compensation Range: $99,975.00 - $166,625.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
