DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will guide an inmate work crew in the maintenance and operation of boiler equipment under normal and emergency conditions. You will utilize manual and automatic control operation systems while reading and interpreting gauges and sensing devices. Duties include performing scheduled and non-routine maintenance and operational assessments, as well as cleaning and maintaining equipment to ensure proper functionality. Additionally, you will operate and maintain auxiliary equipment such as pumps, draft fans, control equipment, and ash systems. This role requires your ability to work independently to analyze problems and implement technical decisions to ensure continued operation of plant equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are rotating between shifts 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating days off.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes). However, a higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of an active Power (Stationary) Engineer license.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
