Join Our Team as a Supplier Quality Engineer in Texarkana, TX.

Are you passionate about quality and continuous improvement in the supply chain? We are looking for a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Texarkana, TX.


In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our suppliers consistently deliver high-quality products and services. You'll evaluate both current and prospective suppliers to confirm their ability to meet stringent quality standards, including compliance with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and contractual flow-down requirements.


Partnering closely with our Purchasing team, you will monitor supplier performance, drive effective root cause analysis and corrective actions, and ensure the timely submission of required documentation. Your work will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and supporting operational excellence.

As the Supplier Quality Engineer, here's the work you'll do:


  • Conduct supplier quality audits to assess new and potential Supplier process capabilities, Quality System compliance and risk. Evaluate application of SPC or other statistical techniques for products manufactured for LS/KS.
  • Implement and manage a supplier corrective action program that will assure timely response times and effective Root Cause Corrective Actions to open issues and concerns.
  • Utilize a Supplier development program to assure that Day & Zimmermann receives quality products on time, every time, cost effectively. Coordinate with Suppliers to ensure they understand product/service requirements, inspection techniques and documentation expectations.
  • Where applicable, collaborate with suppliers on timely submittal of product qualification plans (FAAT) and CDRL items.
  • Provide guidance to Receiving Inspection on inspection techniques and supplier documentation review. Work with the Purchasing department to assure a streamlined method to prevent defective products and incomplete/incorrect documentation.
  • Support/create a supplier quality rating system that will effectively monitor and measure supplier performance.


This role is for you if you have these skills:


  • Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of Supply Chain Management and risk management. Capable of reviewing supplier agreements or contracts and effectively communicating expectations to the supplier.



  • Capable of identifying and evaluating risks in supplier systems, processes, and documentation, and initiating prevention techniques. Able to recognize risks related to on-time delivery and quality, and coordinate with Purchasing and the Supplier on risk mitigation strategies.



  • Experienced in analyzing supplier quality tools and in developing verification/validation plans, including assessing the effectiveness of mitigation activities. Provides guidance to suppliers on the use of SPC and other statistical tools to maintain process control.



  • Able to interpret technical specifications and drawings, assess supplier capabilities, collaborate with suppliers both verbally and in writing, develop process and product qualification plans, and participate in validation requirement discussions.



  • Competent in assessing nonconforming products, processes, or services; evaluating root cause analyses; and working collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions that drive continuous improvement.



And if you have these qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree Required. Preferred degrees include STEM curriculum preferably Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.


* 5 years minimum


* ASQ: CQE Preferred or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) preferred


* ISO 9001 - Auditor Level, Experience with munitions in a manufacturing environment working with metal fabrication.



In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $80,640 - $120,960.This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
