Research Scientist in Bioinformatics

Like all professional staff, Research Scientists are principally engaged in research and appointed to limited terms of employment at the University.
Position Summary: Key Responsibilities: * Analyze high-throughput datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) using appropriate bioinformatics and statistical tools * Perform data mining and integration across large, multidimensional datasets * Contribute to experimental design and statistical analysis plans for ongoing and new research projects * Maintain accurate data records and contribute to the organization of research data inventory systems * Assist in the preparation and management of IRB protocols and other regulatory documents * Contribute to manuscript and grant preparation; co-author scientific publications * Collaborate effectively with lab members, clinical investigators, and external collaborators * Present research findings in internal meetings and at scientific conferences Qualifications: * Master's degree (or higher) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field * At least 5 years of research experience in an academic, clinical, or industry setting * Demonstrated proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical/programming languages * Strong publication track record in peer-reviewed journals * Experience with common bioinformatics tools, databases, and pipelines * Familiarity with IRB protocol preparation and regulatory compliance processes is a plus * Excellent organizational and multitasking skills * Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Requires a doctoral degree or master's degree with significant experience.
