Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Performance Management is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving Crowe's firmwide performance management system. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the effective execution of performance processes, leveraging lessons learned from our initial rollout year to enhance efficiency, engagement, and impact. This individual will work cross-functionally with HR, IT, Communications, Legal, and external partners, leading process cycles, managing key stakeholders, and providing data-driven insights to shape future direction.

Key Responsibilities

Process Execution & Improvement

  • Lead the execution of multiple performance management cycles throughout the year, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery aligned with firm priorities.
  • Partner with the Talent Business team to implement processes consistently and effectively across the organization.
  • Apply insights from the initial year to refine and enhance usability, adoption, and impact.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and innovate the performance management experience.

Project Management & Planning

  • Drive planning and execution across multiple performance cycles and workstreams, managing competing priorities with structure and discipline.
  • Establish milestones in advance, work backward from deadlines, and proactively manage risks and dependencies.
  • Use tools and trackers to monitor progress, ensure transparency, and hold stakeholders accountable to a forward-looking plan - not reactive timelines.

Vendor Management

  • Serve as the day-to-day performance management system owner in partnership with the external technology vendor.
  • Manage vendor timelines, scope, releases, and issues to ensure seamless integration with Crowe's internal needs and infrastructure.
  • Provide feedback and advocate for improvements that align with business needs and process evolution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a connective leader who bridges strategy, compliance, and implementation - driving alignment and shared ownership without direct authority.
  • Build strong, trust-based partnerships across HR, IT, Privacy, Communications, and senior business leaders to ensure coordinated execution of performance management processes.
  • Communicate with clarity and intention, tailoring messages to diverse audiences and proactively socializing changes to gain buy-in and reduce resistance.

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage a team of one, setting clear priorities, mentoring for development, and maintaining accountability for high-quality work.
  • Create an inclusive, engaged team culture that fosters ownership, learning, and performance.
  • Coordinate team contributions across planning, communications, reporting, and vendor support functions.

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Manage and evolve Power BI dashboards and performance reports that monitor key cycle metrics, participation, and outcomes.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps, and recommendations for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT and reporting teams to ensure data integrity and relevant insights are delivered to business leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field; 5-7 years of experience in HR, performance management, or business operations
  • Experience working in a matrixed or professional services environment is preferred.
  • Strong project management expertise, including backward planning, multitasking, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Team management experience, with the ability to coach and guide junior talent.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools; ability to draw insights and present them with impact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating to varied audiences.
