GENERAL FUNCTION: Ensures that the various Lines of Business (LOB) in Mortgage Performing and Default Servicing remain in compliance with servicing guidelines and directives for regulatory agencies, investors, and insurers. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for appropriate and timely communication, training, and procedural documentation in response to company or regulatory directives for Mortgage Performing and Default Servicing including but not limited to Default Loan Servicing, Performing servicing, Collections and Loss Mitigation.
- Participate in the reviews, audits, and subsequent responses for and on behalf of the Mortgage Performing and Default Servicing operation. Partners with the lines of business leaders, Compliance, Legal and other business partners to ensure compliance in the functional workgroups.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with directives, both verbal and electronic, from regulatory agencies, GSEs, investors and insurers for Mortgage Performing and Default Servicing functional work groups.
- Directs required training of personnel and change to process and procedure as required by industry directives.
- Keeps abreast of default servicing industry trends, challenges and best practices and serves as subject matter expert to make recommendations to leadership regarding directives.
- Coordinates appropriate representation from Mortgage Performing and Default Servicing to attend meetings with investor representatives.
- Coordinates response to auditor questionnaires and compliance issues; oversees production of audit files as requested by investors, insurers.
- Participates in default servicing audit examination kick-off and exit meetings and serve as a liaison for the business regarding requests pertinent to the audit or review.
- Critiques exam responses and provides feedback to internal audit manager.
- Monitors outstanding compliance issues for the Mortgage Performing and Default Servicing group to ensure that compliance gaps are concluded with updated procedures and staff training.
- Supports investor relationships through professional and timely response and interaction.
- Provides leadership in developing recommendations and action plans to eliminate or mitigate observed risks and to implement process improvement recommendations.
- Collaborates with Quality Control personnel and provides research support for findings reported to management.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGEAND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of combination of training and work experience in consumer or mortgage operations, collections, default servicing, compliance, quality, or related field.
- Minimum 3 or more years of experience in mortgage servicing/default preferred.
- Minimum 3 or more years of experience in quality assurance preferred
- Familiarity with AllRegs or other compliance related products.
- Thorough knowledge of the fundamental concepts related to mortgage loan, installment loan, and the ability to apply that knowledge in an audit function.
- Thorough knowledge of the Banks, Investors, Insurers and GSE servicing requirements.
- Strong leadership skills, initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of management.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Ability to display a positive business presence and exercise sound judgment when interfacing with management, investor personnel, and internal personnel.
- Advanced PC skills, specifically with Word, using mail merge, tables, integration with other applications, and Excel, using pivot tables, macros, spreadsheets, downloading, importing and exporting files. Experience with Access, Outlook and other Microsoft applications.
