Job Title: Sr. Associate - Risk Management - Risk Operations Coordinator

Business Unit Overview

As part of Risk Management, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding New York Life's policy owners. By identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential risks, you contribute to three crucial areas: strengthening the company's defenses, informing sound business decisions, and advancing risk capabilities across the organization. Your expertise empowers informed risk-taking, fostering sustainable growth and protecting the financial security of millions of policy owners.

Role Overview:

The Sr. Associate, Risk Operations Coordinator, will serve as a key member of the AI Risk team, supporting day-to-day risk operations and execution of the AI governance strategy.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional who can balance request intake coordination, process oversight, stakeholder communication, and documentation rigor in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

This individual will screen and process incoming AI Risk Review requests, ensuring accurate intake, adherence to standard operating procedures, and timely resolution. The role includes maintaining internal tracking systems, preparing governance reports, coordinating team meetings, and supporting communication and documentation across the governance lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the AI Risk Review request workflow from intake, screening, review, and resolution, ensuring timely processing in line with governance policies and SLAs.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor the request inventory, ensuring the accurate recording of relevant information to support executive and regulatory compliance reporting.
  • Support the AI risk governance team's evaluation of AI solutions including coordinating governance meetings, and documenting action items and decision outcomes.
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries with professionalism and clarity, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with governance expectations.
  • Track operational metrics and key performance indicators, and prepare weekly and monthly reporting updates, risk dashboards, and risk summaries for leadership.
  • Maintain and manage internal systems for tracking intake, reviews, approvals, escalations, and key decisions.
  • Support execution of the AI risk governance strategy, including milestone tracking, policy rollouts, and stakeholder awareness campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous program and process improvements, offering solutions to improve risk operations effectiveness.

What You'll Bring:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, governance, or project management
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient using and creating with Microsoft Suite (including Team and SharePoint), ChatGPT and Copilot.
  • Proven ability to manage high-visibility initiatives with precision, ownership, and follow-through in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with reporting and workflow tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Microsoft Power Platform a plus.
  • Experience with data science or AI risk
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk or compliance management frameworks.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $ 111,601 -139,400

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.

Salary Range:$95,000-$139,000
