Location: 205 N East Ave Jackson, MI 49201 Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% inpatient Case Load: 100% Adult Position Overview: Henry Ford Health Jackson is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. This role involves working 12-hour shifts and providing ICU-level care to postoperative cardiovascular patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team consisting of cardiac and vascular surgeons, anesthesiologists/intensivists, dietitians, and pharmacists. The ideal candidate will have cardiac ICU experience and be able to manage patients aged 18 and older. A minimum of 3 years of cardiology experience in an undergraduate or graduate clinical role is preferred. While new graduates will be considered, they must have prior ER or ICU experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and team-oriented APP to contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care in a specialized, fast-paced environment. Procedures - Arterial Lines Schedule - Full-Time. 12-hour shifts per week. (36 hours, 4 hours admin). Weekend requirement - Rotating 1:7 Ratio. GENERAL SUMMARY: The NP-ICU/Critical Care will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary critical care unit. The NP-ICU/Critical Care will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to critically ill patients and their families. Provides inpatient medical care for critically ill patients requiring ICU level of care. Works in collaboration with intensivist physicians, attending physicians, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current state license as a Registered Nurse. Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. * DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL. Experience * ER or ICU Experience, if a new graduate. * Cardiac ICU experience, preferred. * EPIC Experience, preferred.
