Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network/System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC and Richmond, VA. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:


  • Administer and maintain all aspects of the Mainframe Job Scheduling tool set and service utilizing the IBMz Workload Scheduling software
  • Review and test new releases and enhancements of the software code in order to verify documented functionality
  • Investigate and implement new functionality and features into production, perform or lead related project work and is chartered with having an in-depth and detailed knowledge of all uses of the automated scheduler in all hosted environments
  • Support a number of in-house tools such as Corpcal, PODS, Bangcodes and Universal Rates Repository
  • Lead and/or participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities
  • Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities
  • Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system
  • Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors
  • Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations
  • Lead the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
  • Respond to technical questions from clients regarding all aspects of the scheduling software and its capabilities and will lead technology projects/teams
  • Represent the Job Scheduling service in meetings and must have the capacity to think strategically and devise strategies to meet client requirements and challenges
  • Design/Develop and maintain databases using Oracle/DB2 SQL
  • Write SQL queries, stored procedures and optimize database performance
  • Work in Agile teams, participate in code reviews and use version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket



Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of IT experience on Mainframe and Distributed platforms
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience administering and supporting the IBMz job scheduling software in a large batch environment
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of JCL/REXX/VSAM/IBM utilities such as IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, etc., as well as the TWS functions of conditional and remote dependencies, AJR, SET, and SCAN statements or similar functions of other Mainframe Schedulers such as CA7 or Control-M
  • Understand the use and application of the various databases within the scheduling software
  • Understand initialization parameters and their affect regarding functionality of the scheduling software
  • Able to maintain and implement various automated processes via integration points to the scheduling software
  • Able to resolve all recovery issues regarding the TWS/z current and long term plan databases while ensuing the integrity of the daily batch cycle
  • Able to ascertain through research and knowledge the scope of issues and understand the impact while deciding and taking corrective actions in high risk circumstances
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables with various time deliveries from days to months
  • Working knowledge of interactive user interfaces using NodeJS/REACTJS ensuring responsive and dynamic web applications, server-side applications using Java, how to integrate frontend and backend components to deliver complete web solutions, how to implement RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Ability to work with CI/CD tools/pipelines
  • Ability to work closely with clients to resolve Tool issues
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff



Desired skills:

  • Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications or substantial equivalent experience



Pay Range: $50.55-$58.55
