Northwestern Mutual's Wealth Department is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong leadership skills to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and developing scalable software solutions while mentoring junior engineers to foster their growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full stack development, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative spirit. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates technical leadership to team.
  • Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices within department.
  • Engaged in software design and hands on development.
  • Utilizes working relationships across teams within their division.
  • Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems.
  • Be a mentor to junior developers.
Qualifications:
  • 5 - 7+ years of professional development experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Expertise in full stack development.
  • 5+ years of experience with front end development in modern technologies like REACT, JavaScript, Node JS, required.
  • Expertise in backend development (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Expertise in CI/CD skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning.
  • Experience developing solutions using agile methods.
  • Previous experience mentoring and/or coaching engineers.
  • Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms.
  • Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business.
  • Manages own time to meet objectives.
  • Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design.
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$102,060.00

Pay Range - End:

$189,540.00

Geographic Specific Pay Structure:

210 - Structure 110: 112,280.00 USD - 208,520.00 USD 210 - Structure 115: 117,390.00 USD - 218,010.00 USD
