However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. 8 AM - 5 PM; Monday through Friday. Hourse may be flexed around the university's core hours (9 AM - 4 PM).
Pay Rate $23 - $25 per/hour depending on experience
Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, or a related field and 2 years or more of recent related experience as an ADA Consultant, Employee Relations Specialist, HR Advisor, HR Generalist, or HR Business Partner.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, set priorities, manage multiple responsibilities and deliver against competing deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for continuous process improvement.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • High level of patience, emotional maturity, and intelligence, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong case management experience and Salesforce experience is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) ADMINISTRATION

  • In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our organization's commitment to employee well-being and inclusivity. You will handle approximately 50% of your casework related to ADA accommodations, working closely with employees and management to address needs and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct consultations and provide guidance on ADA accommodations and employee relations matters.
  • Collaborate with employees to assess their needs and develop appropriate accommodation plans.
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance understanding of ADA policies and best practices.


EMPLOYEE RELATIONS CONSULTATION

  • Provide assistance to supervisory and non-supervisory employees on workplace issues including disagreements, unsatisfactory performance, allegations of inappropriate behavior and other policy violations in the workplace.
  • Conduct investigations into complaints, document findings, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Support investigations and grievances related to employee relations issues while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Address and resolve non-complex to moderately complex employee concerns, grievances, and disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Other Work/Responsibilities

  • Assist with front office phone coverage and greeting customers as needed.
  • Help manage and update employee records and ER case files (electronic and physical records).
  • Ensure all case documentation is accurate, complete, and handled confidentially.
