About the Position The Support Services Technician will play a vital role in ensuring seamless operations across the organization. This position involves working collaboratively with multiple departments and providing support where needed. This person will coordinate incoming ballots and correspondence for the Early Voting Division and support interdepartmental deliveries safely and efficiently in the Recorder's Office. This cross-functional position will also support divisional operations within early voting (signature verification, curing, etc.). The ideal candidate will be adaptable, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to learn new tasks quickly. About Us The Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The MCRO also maintains the permanent public record of over 50 million documents dating back to 1871, including deeds, plat maps, and a variety of other important documents. We Require
- Six (6) months clerical and/or customer service experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications
Other Requirements
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire and must complete the County Vehicle Operating Training
- Must be eligible to vote in Arizona
- Must successfully complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification

- One (1) year of Elections experience
- One (1) year working in a distribution or mailroom setting
- One (1) year of experience driving a twenty-six-foot box truck with a lift gate
- One (1) year of experience performing office, administrative, and clerical duties
- Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- Ability to develop and implement continuous quality improvement strategies
Job Contributions
- Manages the sorting and distribution of all incoming mail and ballots, creating a standardized and efficient process for staff
- Securely assists in transporting ballots and other election material in the Election vehicles
- Confirms and maintains delivery receipts of delivered mail for audit purposes
- Serves as a flexible resource, providing support to different departments as needed based on workload and organizational priorities
- Depending on departmental needs, assists with a variety of tasks, including administrative support, data entry, project coordination, and customer service
- Proactively learns new skills and adapts to changing priorities and departmental needs in a fast-paced environment
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements policies, procedures, and processes relating to early voting logistics in compliance with state statutes and federal election laws
- Determines the department/recipient for whom mail is intended when necessary
- Ensures health and safety practices are in place and work areas are maintained to avoid accidents
- Assists other divisions of the Recorder's Office as needed
Working Conditions
- Requires lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting, and using hand dexterity, vision, and mathematical reasoning in an office environment
- Operates county vehicles to safely transport election employees, materials, and supplies between election sites
