Burn Machine Operator

Staffmark is hiring a skilled Burn Machine Operator in Springfield, OH! This position offers competitive pay, steady 2nd shift hours, and great benefits.

Pay Rate: $21.50 per hour

Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday - Friday | 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

We're seeking a detail-oriented Burn Machine Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain burning machines to cut plate material into precise shapes. You'll install burning tips, adjust machine settings, read blueprints, and ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the process while maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately locate, identify, and store stock for processing.
• Safely operate and maintain burning machines and related equipment.
• Set up machinery with proper tips, pressures, feeds, speeds, and operating sequences.
• Monitor tools and tips, replacing when needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure part accuracy.
• Minimize waste through precise adjustments and material utilization.
• Complete required paperwork and production records accurately.
• Assist with warehouse functions when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Demonstrate reliability and consistent attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Shipping/receiving experience a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measure, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Strong math, reading, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull, stand, and climb throughout the shift.
