What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is looking for a Power Electronics Controls and Firmware Intern. The role would involve working on next-generation fast charging products, such as grid-tied inverters and resonant DC-DC converters.


What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Develop dynamic models of the system in PLECS, and tune controller algorithms accordingly to optimize performance
  • Translate algorithms into software implementation [C/C++], and work with the firmware team to integrate that into the firmware framework
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementation on bench
  • Develop and utilize computer simulations (Matlab/Simulink, HiL, SiL) to investigate new algorithms, modifications, or corner-case events


Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in power electronics or a related field
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and testing power electronics controls
  • Hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills including working with high voltage equipment
  • Experience with embedded firmware development for real-time controls systems and familiarity with RTOS.
