The Role:

The Payments Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily payment operations. This role is responsible for supervising a team of payment specialists, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all outgoing payments, managing payment systems, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of payment platforms and financial controls, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Supervise daily operations of the payments team, including ACH, wire transfers, credit card payments, checks, and international transactions.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of all payment types across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Review and approve high-value or exception transactions in accordance with approval matrices.
  • Reconcile payment transactions and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the accounting and treasury teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of payment processes and internal controls.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members; assist in onboarding new staff.
  • Monitor KPIs and generate reports on payment processing volumes, errors, and turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., AP, AR, treasury, IT) and external stakeholders (e.g., banks, payment processors) to resolve payment issues.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend or implement improvements to optimize payment operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., SOX, AML, PCI-DSS, etc.)



Competencies:



  • Experience with international payments and foreign exchange.
  • Familiarity with banking operations, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in payment processing, treasury operations, or accounts payable, including 1+ year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems and platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Coupa, Kyriba, SWIFT, etc.).
  • Prior experience in a shared services environment or a high-volume corporate payments team



Target Compensation:



  • $75,000- $83,000 Annual Salary
