Position Overview

Are you interested in getting in on an outstanding growth opportunity of an exciting project supporting management and operations of spent nuclear fuel storage facilities? Our company is looking for a highly motivated person to join our group supporting our NRC Licensed Facilities management work in Colorado.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Have a minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in an engineering or physical science field and 5 years' supervisory experience in nuclear facility operations or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn program aspects from incumbent staff such that they can be multidisciplined and support different program elements as needed.
  • Must be able to solve problems independently.
  • Perform/support/review engineering design and analyses of spent nuclear fuel storage and shipping containers and associated equipment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a good planner, forward-thinking, and able to develop and maintain schedules.
  • Nuclear facility licensing experience.
Other Job Responsibilities
  • Perform regulatory compliance duties supporting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)-licensed Fort Saint Vrain (FSV) ISFSI.
  • Provide technical support to operational activities within the ISFSI.
  • Provide facility management support of the FSV ISFSI.
  • Monitor and report to management regulatory compliance and issues management concerns.
  • Ensure regulatory and license basis document requirements roll-down and are implemented by direct observation, records review, technical analysis, self-assessments, and other means.
  • Prepare and/or oversee the development of technical and operational documents.
  • Develop technical bases to support operational decisions and project plans.
  • Work to become a subject matter expert for regulatory compliance with 10 CFR 72 and other regulations referenced therein including:
    • Physical protection
    • Health physics
    • License renewal
    • Aging management
  • Prior experience working with DOE customer is a plus.
Special Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE "Q" Security Clearance.
