Description

Salary: Starting at $25/hr based on experience.

Position Summary: The Dance Specialist will be responsible for teaching school-age children introductory level material. The Dance Specialist is expected to prepare the children for a performance by the end of the school year and summer camp.

Essential Duties:



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Develop course curriculum.
  • Help students present end-of-quarter dance performance.
  • Teach general dance skills to students in creative ways.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of students.
  • Attend mandated staff meetings.
  • Request supplies and equipment needed for activities.
  • Maintain proper care of supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to policy and procedures of CA - Dunlevy Milbank Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Candidate must be a college student, have attended college, or has graduated.
  • Applicants must be responsible, dependable, and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field.
  • Must be comfortable creating and teaching choreography.

  • Strong ability to make dance engaging for youth of all ability levels.
  • Dynamic personality; able to relate to youth 5-14 years old.
  • In touch with popular youth culture.
  • Must have experience in various dance genres.
  • Good organizational and planning skills, high creativity and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Be able to work 4-5 days from 3:00pm - 6:00pm (After-school)
  • Be able to work 4 days from 9:30am - 3:30pm (Summer camp).
  • Have a love for working with children!
