Description

Leidos is seeking a Sr. Capture Director to lead high priority captures in our Federal Civil IT (Fed Civ IT) business area and Digital Modernization Sector.

This position is based out of Reston, VA and will operate out of Reston, VA during a capture cycle. The position is focused on qualifying and capturing identified high priority opportunities within targeted Fed Civ IT customer base. This position will closely adopt the Leidos Win Plan process as relevant to execute successfully on the assigned capture and increasing the probability of win.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned high priority captures by establishing a superior capture strategy and developing strong customer relationships, industry partnerships and technical/price solutions targeted toward a higher Probability of Win
  • Perform market research to support assigned captures by performing an analysis of customer budget and buying patterns, customer needs/capability requirements, customer preferences, competitive landscape, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
  • Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
  • Develop and execute the customer call plan, with detailed reports to enable plan execution.
  • Lead capture team and capture activities to successfully execute "how we win" plan and achieve customer understanding.
  • Interact routinely with senior levels of Leidos leadership to update on capture progress and needs.
  • Brief capture status to senior leadership at specified milestones in the capture process when material changes occur and as needed.
  • Conduct after action reviews for all business opportunity capture participants to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy, and actions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred in related technical field, and 15+ years in a Business Development or a Capture Manager position (additional education, training or experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Proven track record of successful capture management and wins at a variety of acquisition sizes with wins of acquisition sizes, ranging from $500M or higher.
  • Demonstrated access to key Fed Civ IT government customers and industry partners.
  • Strategic thinking, along with written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in successfully executing and winning on GSA FEDSIM captures.
  • Strong understanding of the FEDSIM Procurement process, the agency requirements, tailoring and building a team to deliver to the FEDSIM requirements that include orals, written volumes, pricing strategy and staffing plan.
  • Excellent knowledge of pricing strategies, pricing levers and competitor strategies are essential.

  • Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, especially for high value acquisitions >$500M, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans.
  • Skills to successfully lead a diverse capture team.
  • Prior experience supporting business development and capture efforts for civil agencies.
  • Self-starter on FEDSIM capture with the ability to manage time independently without direct supervision.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A technical degree is highly desired.
  • Strong, respected relationships within the federal IT community.
  • Ability to collaborate and gain internal support; present a compelling story to gain management support; operate independently with limited supervision and feedback; and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers i across Leidos is essential.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
