This critical leadership position will support CONMED's US commercial teams and have overall responsibility for the Innovative Solutions Group. The position will lead a team of finance professionals in delivering world-class financial, strategic, and operational support to complex and growing businesses, and will be responsible for developing and providing creative and flexible financing options to our sales force and customers as they look to make significant purchases for their businesses. In addition, this team will be responsible for supporting our US sales channel in converting new and retaining existing customers through creative deal structures and thoughtful analysis to ensure we are balancing our financial commitments to our shareholders while delivering customized financial solutions to our customers. This is a dynamic and high-profile position that requires the successful candidate to utilize a broad range skills, along with strong business acumen, to lead and execute key initiatives to drive revenue and EBIT growth and will also play an active leadership role on the overall Finance & Accounting team for the US Orthopedics business unit. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and lead a team of finance professionals helping to drive a high-performance culture and winning attitude through effective leadership
- Establish a clear vision and mission for the function and clearly communicate it to the entire organization to drive broad awareness and expectations
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and ensure alignment with all potential deal structures and transactions across the business including sales, marketing, finance, accounting, and compliance
- Build and deliver an ecosystem of available financing options including access to at least five accredited lenders and financial institutions to provide a robust offering of financing options
- Create a detailed marketing campaign to educate and drive ongoing visibility and awareness around our creative financial product offering to our internal and external customers
- Work closely with appropriate functional leaders to develop and administer ongoing training and education events to maximize the impact and reach of our financial programs
- Develop and prepare financial presentations and supporting reports with relevant KPIs highlighting customer wins and losses and financial product success for senior team members inclusive of monthly/quarterly business reviews, executive reviews, etc.
- Be the SME of all things "Innovative Solutions Group" and attend in-person negotiations to support our sales force as the finance expert to close a deal, and/or support customer opportunities via video teleconferencing to present deal structure, educate on available options, and answers any customer questions or follow-up inquiries
- Create and manage a robust P&L model to evaluate each potential deal structure inclusive of revenue, all operating expenses, and other financial considerations; track each deal vs. original model to measure outcomes, provide updates to management, and properly adjust model assumptions as new data becomes available
- Coordinate with the finance and accounting team on any month-end entries or accruals from the Innovative Solutions Group, and provide requested support to ensure adherence to GAAP
- Ensure all customer deals and transactions are in according with GAAP, they conform to our compliance requirements, and all functional internal controls are operating effectively
- Lead and manage US Orthopedics pricing function including RFPs, bid opportunities, etc.
- Other projects and duties as assigned by the VP, Finance US Orthopedics
Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of 8 - 10 years finance experience in a complex business with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity
Preferred Requirements:
- Medical device experience preferred
Other Attributes:
- Travel as required to support customer negotiations and in-person presentations
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines, with cross-functional teams and multi-task
- Strong understanding of financing and lending programs, US GAAP, experience with and knowledge of the accounting and reporting requirements of publicly traded multinational companies.
- Ability to lead a team and work independently in a timely and accurate manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel and PowerPoint

The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
