About this opportunity MillerKnoll's Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100% real-world experience for students early in their careers. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. We are looking for a data-driven and curious Transportation Intern to join our Global Supply Chain team. This internship will focus on analyzing transportation performance and supporting strategic initiatives to optimize our retail distribution network. You'll gain exposure to real-world logistics challenges and contribute to projects that enhance service levels, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals. What You'll Do You'll have opportunities to speak up, solve problems, influence others, and be an owner every day as you... Analyze transportation data across retail to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Support network optimization projects, including route planning, carrier selection, mode analysis, and site selection. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Distribution, Planning, Sustainability) and external partners to gather and interpret logistics data. Assist in developing dashboards and reports using tools like Excel, Snowflake, and SQL. Participate in carrier performance reviews and help track KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and carbon footprint. Contribute to research efforts exploring new methodologies and innovative approaches What You Bring The needed skills and experience for this role include... Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with Excel and data visualization tools preferred. Experience in working with large data sets Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and retail logistics is a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Passion for design, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Education Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field. You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 (overall or within your program) to qualify for consideration in the Intern Program.
