UCI's School of Humanities has 185 faculty, 13 departments, and 16 Centers, all of which are supported by the Humanities Advancement team. The successful candidate will join a team where hard work, integrity, quality, and kindness are highly valued. This position will be responsible for coordinating stewardship and donor relations activities for the team, as well as assisting with a wide range of projects which support fundraising, as well as high level administrative support.


Your Role on the Team

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Development , Humanities, the Development Analyst is responsible for a variety of project management, fundraising, and administrative duties in support of Humanities initiatives. The incumbent coordinates a wide range of stewardship and donor relations activities in support of Humanities and will perform coordination of complex, confidential and sensitive issues of a broad scope related to fundraising programs.. This position will serve in a liaison role, responding with tact and diplomacy on behalf of the development office through verbal and/or written communications. The incumbent will be responsible for providing high level administrative support to the team focused on qualification of major gift prospects and maintaining accurate prospect information. Additionally, the position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established in the key responsibilities.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies. Communicates in a diplomatic and professional manner at all hierarchical levels
  • Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong skills in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Publisher, InDesign or other graphics programs as well as proven ability to use MS Office programs and ability to coordinate data collection from a variety of areas and integrate into meaningful reports.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to eliminate or mitigate potential negative effects. Take initiative in presenting alternatives and implementing solutions to problems to ensure effective change.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work with frequent interruptions under constantly changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated skill in scheduling, arranging and calendaring.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with Advancement colleagues, faculty and staff to achieve defined goals.
  • Experience in independently planning meetings or special events including developing and managing a budget.
  • 1-3 years Experience working in a Development setting.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of the location, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of UCI policies and accounting forms such as invoices, travel vouchers, purchase orders, and check requests.
  • Working knowledge of Zotforce.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to drive on occasion in order to perform the routine or essential job responsibilities for the position. Must possess a valid California driver license and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends throughout the year at fundraising events.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $34.29- $37.00 (Hourly).
