Senior* Cost Accounting Manager (Contract - 6 Months)* We are seeking an experienced Senior* Cost Accounting Manager* to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role will serve as a backfill for the current manager who is transitioning to an implementation project. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in inventory cost accounting and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment. Key Responsibilities * Monitor and analyze product costs, including moving average cost changes and landed cost variances * Oversee cost calculations and ensure accurate tracking of inventory movements * Analyze purchase price variances (cost, freight, duty) and provide actionable insights * Support costing reviews for new styles/seasons and maintain cost templates * Manage monthly close processes for global inventory * Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations * Analyze and report on COGS and inventory valuation * Monitor perpetual inventory balances and adjustments * Support external audits related to costing and inventory * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sourcing, planning, logistics, and finance * Provide cost trend analysis to support budgeting and forecasting * Track actual vs. forecasted costs and identify key variances Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * 7+ years of progressive experience in inventory and cost accounting * Strong understanding of US GAAP, margin analysis, and inventory valuation * Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI * Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Workday, NetSuite) * Background in retail or apparel industry strongly preferred * Ability to excel in a dynamic, high-SKU, fast-paced environment Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
