Responsibilities

  • Responsible to provide general clerical and clinical assistance to all members of the Medical Practice team within the scope of the practice for Medical Assistants.
  • Assists the medical provider in the delivery of patient care and patient teaching according to clinic policies and protocols.
  • Ensures that patient charts are prepared properly before patient visits.
  • Efficently rooms patients and collects all relevant and necessary information for providers to make informed decisions.
  • Contributes to the assessment of patient's health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents patient care.
  • Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
  • Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner.
  • Communicates and interacts with all customers (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians) in a positive ans supportive manner.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and stocked patient care and work area.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Certified as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
