THE ROLE:

The Sr. Program Manager in Operations plays a key leadership role in driving organization efficiency and operations excellence. This role is pivotal in driving cross-functional business programs with a strong focus on finance, planning, and operational execution

THE PERSON:

The Sr. Program Manager will partner closely with Engineering/Design teams, Finance, Operations, and Business Unit leaders. They will act as a bridge across organizations to align strategic initiatives, collaboratively define program scoping, optimize processes, and deliver results that enable AMD to scale effectively and achieve its business objectives. The ideal candidate will also possess a strong technical background, with knowledge of AMD SOC architecture which will enable them to effectively communicate and collaborate with engineering teams and drive technically complex programs to successful outcomes

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Project Scoping & Alignment

  • Engage with technical and business leadership and internal teams to understand and coordinate project scoping, objectives, success criteria, resource needs, and timelines.
  • Ensure projects are aligned with AMD's financial, operational, and strategic goals.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate trade-offs, prioritize initiatives, and establish clear deliverables.

Program Management & Execution

  • Maintains and analyze operational, resourcing, and financial data - including program resource allocation, material costs, OPEX, and CAPEX - to enable data-driven decision-making, and strategic planning across operations
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Business Unit leadership to align business goals, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Drive internal cross-collaboration across multiple functions-including Finance, Operations, Engineering, HR, IT, and Business Units-to ensure seamless accounting of project costs.
  • Develop frameworks, dashboards, and governance models to ensure transparency and accountability across programs.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, escalating issues and driving resolution across stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitate quarterly and annual planning processes, ensuring alignment of financial forecasts with operational strategies.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and recommendations for leadership decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide junior program managers, helping to establish best practices and strengthen AMD's Program Management culture.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience in program management, with exposure to finance and operations in high-tech semiconductor industry.
  • Proven ability to scope, plan, and deliver complex programs in technical environment through collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Semiconductor experience / knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills with a proven ability to influence across organizations.
  • Expertise in program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
  • Proficiency with program and financial management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, SAP, or similar).

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
