Job Overview:
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Support and Field Service, this role serves as a mechanical technical support specialist, providing post-sales expertise and training to authorized channel partners on Gardner Denver Blower and Vacuum products. The ideal candidate brings experience with blowers or similar rotating equipment and demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to disassemble, diagnose, and rebuild machinery-experience in diesel or automotive repair is highly valued. A solid understanding of basic electrical systems is also important, particularly the ability to read schematics and work safely with low voltage (24-110V). Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting is preferred.

Responsibilities


  • Provide Expert Mechanical, Technical Support to Channel Technicians
    :


    • Leverage contact management systems to deliver problem-solving support to field technicians, resolving complex product and system issues while maintaining professional customer interaction.



  • Lead Resolution of Customer Issues with Ownership and Follow-Through
    :


    • Take a proactive approach to troubleshooting, leading corrective actions when necessary and ensuring full issue resolution and satisfaction.



  • Manage and Develop Knowledge Resources
    :


    • Oversee creation, updates, and accessibility of knowledge articles, technical bulletins, fault trees, and troubleshooting guides to enhance field technician effectiveness.



  • Collaborate Across Teams to Address Technical Challenges
    :


    • Communicate with Engineering, Operations, and Management to understand product specifications, identify root causes, and align on solutions.



  • Document and Report Complex Technical Findings
    :


    • Conduct technical assessments and develop clear, detailed technical reports outlining issues, root causes, and recommended actions.



  • Support Quality & Reliability Tracking
    :


    • Input repetitive or critical issues into the Quality & Reliability Management System (QRMS) to support data-driven improvements.



  • Contribute to Training Development & Delivery
    :


    • Assist in designing, improving, and delivering training materials such as presentations and workshops for channel partners and internal teams.



  • Engage in New Product Development Support
    :


    • Participate in new product initiatives, including serviceability input, field trials, upgrades, and ensuring technical support readiness for new technologies.






Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant technical and work experience equivalent.

  • 5+ years' experience in a mechanical technical work environment.

  • MS Office skills - proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is essential

  • Presentation skills - customers, channel partners, management, and peers.

  • Experience and ability to work effectively, acting on own initiative with minimal supervision.

Pay: The pay range for this role is $65,000-$85,000 annually. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
