Position Title: Finance Specialist Wage: $41,600 - $49,920/year Shift: 1st Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday) Reached a dead end at your current job? Finance Specialist Responsibilities: - Processing business transactions; keeping financial records up-to-date - Perform bookkeeping and ledger maintenance following accounting best practices - Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing - Monitoring vendor statements, wire transfer requests, and other transactions - Posting customer checks, vendor payments, and ACH payments; conduct collection efforts as needed - Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records - Reconciling account balances - Processing billing adjustments and refunds - Assisting in account analysis and account coding - Assisting the accounting manager with audits, forecasts, and other fiscal planning - Assisting the financial department, other assistants, and the Finance Director as needed - Provide backup front desk duties as needed - Attend staff, departmental, and other company meetings as assigned - Maintain familiarity with company goals, mission and programs - Filing, mailing and other duties as assigned Requirements For Finance Specialist: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field preferred - 2-3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience - Experience with QuickBooks preferred - Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite with strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports - Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) - Ability to use 10-key by touch, with accurate data entry, and handle high volumes of daily data/information - Detail-oriented with good communication, problem solving, time management and organizational skills - Ability to develop a team approach with staff, volunteers and community partners - Strong interpersonal and communication skills required - Experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations - Good judgement when making decisions - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism, with high standards of integrity and credibility IND345 |
