IT Systems Specialist

Location: Austin, TX - South Congress Ave Headquarters (Onsite, 5 Days per Week)
Compensation: Competitive base + benefits

Togetherwork is seeking an IT Systems Specialist to support our Austin headquarters. As the primary onsite IT representative, you'll ensure a seamless, secure, and professional technology experience for employees and executives. You'll partner closely with our remote IT team to manage daily operations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain reliable systems across the office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early- to mid-career IT professional who enjoys working directly with users, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.


What you'll do


  • Serve as the first point of contact for all onsite IT support needs, providing Tier 1/2 support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and conference room systems.



  • Set up, image, deploy, and maintain devices throughout their lifecycle.



  • Maintain office equipment such as printers, video conferencing systems, and A/V technology.



  • Support and monitor local network connectivity, including switches, Wi-Fi access points, and firewalls.



  • Collaborate with remote IT engineers to troubleshoot and optimize performance.



  • Assist with VPN, VLAN, and connectivity issues as needed.



  • Help administer user access, identity management, and badge systems.



  • Perform patching, updates, and system maintenance in coordination with IT leadership.



  • Provide exceptional customer service to Austin-based staff and executives, communicating technical solutions clearly to non-technical users.



  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset tracking, and internal knowledge base articles.



  • Identify opportunities to improve IT operations and user experience.




What you bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.



  • 2-4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or helpdesk roles.



  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals (Wi-Fi, firewalls, switching, VPN).



  • Experience supporting Windows and/or macOS environments.



  • Strong troubleshooting skills and professional, customer-focused demeanor.




Preferred:




  • Experience with enterprise Wi-Fi systems (Meraki, Cisco, or Aruba).



  • Familiarity with cloud productivity tools such as Microsoft 365, Azure, or Google Workspace.



  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent.
