The Transportation and Systems Analyst is responsible for McLane network planning and transportation routing to minimize delivery times and transportation costs while improving logistics tracking, execution, and customer service.

This position is based in Carrollton, TX, which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute commute to Carrollton, TX.

What you'll do as a Transportation and Systems Analyst:

  • Complete static, cyclical, and seasonal routing using provided routing software.
  • Create baseline data and full routing complement to Dispatchers and Transportation Managers using routing software.
  • Provide divisional support and technical assistance for transportation systems, including but not limited to user updates, data management, and system maintenance.
  • Develop summarized reports and conduct analysis of transportation performance to key executives throughout the
    company.
  • Analyze and summarize transportation systems software data and routing software data to assess expected and actual performance to plan.
  • Continually improve the routing process to reduce miles, improve customer estimated times of arrival, and reduce the overall workload within the department.
  • Work with key executives and Transportation department personnel to properly use a rolling asset tracking system and provide timely reporting and data analysis to improve a truck driver's ability to deliver product in an efficient manner.
  • Provide transportation systems support, best practices, metrics, and reporting.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Transportation and Systems Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience in dispatching, freight management/brokerage, or process engineering.
  • Knowledge of routing software is a plus.
  • Understanding of fleet tracking software PeopleNet knowledge a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of data management tools, including databases and spreadsheets particularly SQL, Access, and Excel; be functional with other Microsoft Office programs Word, Outlook).
  • Be able to provide 24-7 transportation systems support.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
