At Advantage Technical, we're seeking a Design Release Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI, to be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team shaping the next generation of vehicles and world-class powertrain systems.

Pay: $45.98/hr.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead the development, validation, integration, and qualification of engine control module (ECM) hardware components from supplier selection through production launch.
  • Establish and maintain ECM performance standards to meet objectives for performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality.
  • Oversee suppliers in the design, testing, and release of components to ensure compliance with Stellantis specifications and vehicle-level requirements.
  • Ensure product and process maturity, manage engineering changes, and mitigate risks or technical issues.
  • Develop and approve DFMEAs for ECM modules, ensuring robust failure mode and effects analysis with suppliers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams, manufacturing, and suppliers to align designs, processes, and documentation for reusability.
  • Support field warranty and quality investigations by leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in ECU or 12V automotive component development.
  • Strong understanding of ECU development processes or 12V energy management systems.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage supplier teams.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.


Preferred:



  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Experience managing suppliers, engineers, or embedded software development.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand, and CAPL.
  • Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD protocols and cryptographic principles.
