Local Title: Maintenance Technician
Summary: Perform a wide variety of complex duties associated with the application of one or more craft skills to install, fabricate, trouble-shoot, repair, move and maintain a wide variety of production equipment, facility equipment, buildings, and systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets technical manuals, drawings, schematic diagrams and works from verbal instructions to determine, estimate and order material requirements and to plan and lay out the details of the job.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, electrical/electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, production machinery, and instrumentation equipment.
- Installs and moves of machinery and equipment to effect layout changes as required. Work may include operations such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook ups to place equipment in proper operating condition.
- Completes pipe fitting, welding, torch cutting and PVC fabrication work required for the repair and installation of all equipment and facilities.
- Keep production work area neat and clean while performing repairs, preventative maintenance, etc. and clean the area before leaving when the job is completed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Lead Person
Essential Skills/Abilities:
- Be able to work in a team environment and lead a team.
- Coordinate with production on what priority emphasis is to run during their respective shifts.
- Converse with other leadman during shift changes on projects in action.
- Organize & delegate shift priority.
- Assess the job and troubleshoot: What must be done? What needs to be ordered? Who is going to do it?
- Coordinating and distributing all details.
- Communicate with other shifts and coworkers to ensure progress of project or repair.
- Organize that he and all coworkers work in according to OSHA and Shiloh safety standards.
Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:
- Must have forklift license.
- High School diploma preferred.
- Work experience in a particular craft.
- Mechanical, electrical, welding, and machine repair.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Working knowledge of ABB Robotics.
- Working knowledge of computer skills; email, PM system, Plex.
- Must have own tools.
Physical Demands:
- You must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- I must be able to work overtime.
- Must be able to work above floor level in oily conditions and in tight spaces.
- Must be comfortable and confident working at heights, including on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms, as required by the role. Ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently in elevated environments, adhering to all safety protocols.
