This position offers a hybrid schedule (4 days in office, 1 remote) when applicable; occasional evening and weekend work will also be required. This is a Contract position. The Production Coordinator position assists with the planning, coordination, and logistics for UC Merced Arts performing arts programs, including the annual concert series, Shakespeare in Yosemite, and the UC Merced Children's Opera. The Production Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director for the Arts and works closely with campus partners, faculty, students, and external artists and venues. The Production Coordinator's work will focus on both performance days and program preparation throughout the academic year. Responsibilities include managing email communications with contracted musicians and visiting artists, coordinating production requirements, and assisting with stage and front-of-house operations. On nonperformance days, the Coordinator completes routine assignments for program communications and marketing, manages internal and external correspondence for the unit and supports donor-facing activities. The Coordinator will also work closely with Yosemite Hospitality for the Shakespeare in Yosemite program and assist with education outreach for the UC Merced Children's Opera. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in performing arts production and administration, with the ability to work collaboratively in a university context and to represent UC Merced in public-facing settings.
