*Description*
Job Description The Data Center Operations (DCO) Systems Technician II will work as a team player to provide technical escort in support of all maintenance, operations, and expansion efforts; including critical infrastructure of power, cooling systems, communications, and facilities. Also, completing preventative maintenance as planned by Systems Management. In addition, this team member will be required to increase their knowledge base to grow within the company according to the requirements set forth in the job description and learn the facility requirements towards acting as first responders to critical infrastructure alarms. * Responsible for and maintain 100% critical systems uptime; * Alarm Response: High Temperature, UPS, UPS Battery, Health Report Error, Fluid Cooler, Pump Skid * Accurate and timely completion of work orders and participate in policy and procedure development * Handle different tool and equipment with precision; * Adhere to Switch Safety Policy and Procedure; * Work with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Switch standards; * Assist in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions; * Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks assigned by management staff; * Ensure customer compliance with Switch Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). * Ability to run and troubleshoot Modbus, CAT5, CAT6 or environmental wiring * Knowledge how to operate a thermal imaging tool (FLIR) * Attend assigned meetings and training * Maintain professional appearance * Comprehension of assigned facilities electrical and mechanical systems that may be employed in a data center environment. This may include electrical feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS Systems, DC power Systems, ATS/STS units, PDU units, breakers, batteries, load bank connections, CRACs, air handling units, fluid coolers, pumps, cages, and fire suppression systems; * Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings (blueprints/CAD). * Knowledge of data center, safety, electrical, and cooling designs * Must follow established safety practices and procedures in applicable situations * Ability to work any shift in a 24x7x365 Operation, including weekends and holidays; * Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; * Must possess basic typing, email, and computer skills; *Skills* Data center, Data center operations, HVAC *Top Skills Details* Data center,Data center operations,HVAC *Additional Skills & Qualifications* HVAC Schooling- Certifications Additional Skills & Qualifications Comprehension of assigned facilities electrical and mechanical systems that may be employed in a data center environment. This position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously. This person may be required to work extended hours during peak work periods. Team members will be required to read and understand various color codes on components, wiring and equipment. This position will require working near live electrical and mechanical equipment.
