Acara Solutions seeks an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer for our client in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • The client is seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for developing advanced weapons and navigation system hardware.
  • This role involves the schematic design and layout of hardware components incorporating FPGAs, DDR RAM (DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR4) memory interfaces, and digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, and SDIO.
  • Design and develop digital hardware subsystems and components.
  • Capture schematics and perform PCB/PWB layout.
  • Interface with FPGAs and high-speed memory components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design success across the full product lifecycle.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing PCBs/PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition or similar tools for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity/power integrity analysis.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions.
  • Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively, and mentoring junior engineers when needed.
