As an Event Marketing and Experience Manager, you will lead event marketing and strategy to plan, develop, support, and implement impactful, enterprise-wide events and programs to drive organizational priorities. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, Internal Communications and Events, this individual will work independently to manage the portfolio of Medical College of Wisconsin signature events while supporting alumni, philanthropic and other events and experiences as needed with key stakeholders. The Manager will also collaborate with and provide direction and guidance to the MCW event marketing and experience team to successfully plan, market, and execute events.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees and develops the vision, strategy and standards for internal and external, in-person and virtual events per year, including events supporting the university, people, media relations, fundraising and alumni engagement strategies.
- Oversees all aspects of events, including but not limited to evaluating and recommending opportunities, vendor contract negotiation, site reviews, research and selection of venues, planning logistics, staffing coordination and budget.
- Collaborates with executive leadership and committee chairs to align events to institutional and university strategies and priorities.
- Responsible for the overall MCW event experience in alignment with MCW's brand strategy.
- Responsible for the management of a $350,000 institutional events budget and tracking expenses and revenue per event.
- Develop communication and engagement strategy on best practices to guide all MCW events.
- Develop success metrics and measures to track and optimize the participant event experience and engagement in partnership with the department or initiative leadership.
- Create and promote protocols for professional standards and procedures and production of events in keeping with the image and reputation of MCW.
- Work with departments to create successful events that are on brand and on par with the quality of events expected from MCW and that enhance MCW's brand, image, and reputation.
- Manages events team including direct reports, and event day staff.
- Develops and monitors event timelines and project plans, and ensures plans are executed.
- Identifies and manages portfolio of recommended vendors and suppliers ensuring increased procurement from minority and women owned businesses.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with venue and contractor partners as well as with MCW departments.
- Responsible for pre-meeting logistics including venue reservations and/or contracts, meeting room set-ups, food and beverage function and audiovisual requirements to meeting site staff.
- Provides support to other special logistics related to amenities, transportation and/or special reservations, as needed.
- Some events will require on-site set up and day of event support.
- Travel to MCW regional campuses or other event sites required for events as needed.

Preferred Schedule:
M-F, 8-5 p.m.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree required
Minimum experience: 5 - 7 years of integrated communications or event planning experience, plus 2 years of project team and/or volunteer management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, hospitality or marketing
Preferred Experience: 8 years in event planning, event management, or philanthropic event management
