The New Hanover County Senior Resource Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Social Services Manager. This key leadership position plays a vital role in advancing the County's mission to support older adults, caregivers, and families through high quality, person-centered programs and services. The Social Services Manager provides strategic oversight, supervision, and evaluation of the Life Enrichment Program (LEP), which includes but is not limited to Social Work Services, Older Adult Mental Health, Family Caregiver Support, Options Counseling, Prescription Assistance, and the Home Repair Program. This position also assists in the long-term planning and implementation for the New Hanover County Master Aging Plan (MAP) and leads collaboration with a wide network of community partners. Essential Duties include:
- Provide leadership, direction, and evaluation for Life Enrichment Program staff and services.
- Implement and monitor program requirements, guidelines, and performance standards related to multiple funding sources, including the Home Delivered Meals Program, In-Home Aide Program, Adult Day Care, Options Counseling, Family Caregiver Support Program, Mental Health program, and Choosing Home Grant.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor program budgets; assist with grant writing and reporting; and ensure fiscal accountability and compliance.
- Prepare monthly reports and annual grant related reports.
- Conduct internal quality assurance reviews to maintain high standards of service delivery and data accuracy.
- Lead staff development by assessing training needs, coaching employees, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Foster effective relationships with clients, families, community organizations, and county partners through communication, collaboration, and outreach.
- Serve on the NHC Aging and Adult Services Multi-Disciplinary Team and act as a serve as a Dementia Friends Champion to promote awareness and education.
- Prepare and present written, statistical, and oral reports; oversee data entry and reporting through ServTracker, Aging Resource Management System (ARMS), The Pharmacy Connection, and CureMD.
- Participate in countywide strategic initiatives and contribute to the ongoing implementation and evaluation of the Master Aging Plan.
Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
- Strong leadership and organizational management skills.
- In-depth understanding of social work theory and practice, particularly in aging services.
- Knowledge of mental health billing practices.
- Working knowledge of community resource networks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to crises.
- Skilled in assessing and addressing cases of neglect, abuse, or exploitation and making appropriate referrals.
- Experience in community planning, presentations, and partnership development.

Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Must be available to report for emergency work assignment during emergency situations.
Employment Type: Full time, non-exempt
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $79,291 - $134,795 plus a competitive benefits package. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

Qualifications
-
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional level social worker experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licenses/Certifications

- Valid Driver's License (from any state) and good driving record required at time of application.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License required by first date of employment with good driving record.
