Rental Fleet Maintenance Manager Position Purpose Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of the rental fleet maintenance program to achieve maximum utilization at the lowest cost. Acts as technical advisor on all rental equipment issues and assists management team with equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases. Communicates and coordinates actions with General Rental Manager and when appropriate, Rental Managers Rental Fleet Maintenance Manager Essential Functions
- Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
- Monitors and tracks rental equipment repairs and maintenance on a routine basis by make, model, unit, SN, hours, and utilization. Goal is for repairs to be no more than 12% of rental revenue
- Manages and reports equipment repairs whetherexpensed or capitalized
- Tracks equipment service records through company's business system and supplemental systems where available
- Monitor repairs and maintenance with the Service department
- Monitors and compares repair invoices to estimates
- Issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and accounting system
- Provide management with a monthly budget analysis of rentals and repairs by branch, make, model, unit/SN. Makes suggestions to rental managers and corporate management regarding non-performing machines and or models regarding specifications, etc.
- Prepares month-end reporting of key performance factors to management
- Inspects equipment on a regular basis for damage, safety, etc. Oversees customer damage estimates and charges to customer and/or rentals department
- Oversees Rental inspection procedures, pictures, and files
- Attends branch/corporate meetings as required
- Prepares correspondence, reports, and other forms of written communication as necessary
- Assist with special projects as required
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance
Rental Fleet Maintenance Manager Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Two (2) years Rental equipment/fleet management experience in the heavy equipment industry or comparable job experience.
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and various web-based applications
- Adept at organizing, planning, and task completion to manage a high volume of department paperwork
- Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
Rental Fleet Maintenance Manager Physical Requirements
- Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- Driving or sitting for long periods
- Ability to hear, listen, see, and touch
- Adheres to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintains individual PPE infunctional condition
