The George Washington University's Division of University Advancement is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Advancement to support the strategic and operational effectiveness of the division. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Advancement Solutions, this role is responsible for implementing and maintaining systems that support project execution, internal communications, and strategic planning across the division. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented project manager with a passion for building infrastructure and enabling teams to work more effectively. This position plays a key role in supporting GW's mission to advance the university's priorities through philanthropy, alumni engagement, and strategic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
CRM Advance Conversion Project
- Serve as a key project manager for the division's comprehensive transition from Advance Web to Ellucian CRM Advance.
- Develop and maintain the project plan, timeline, and communication strategy for the CRM conversion.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to ensure smooth implementation and adoption.
- Craft and distribute clear, timely communications to the entire division regarding project milestones, training opportunities, and system updates.
Project Queue Management
- Develop and manage a system for receiving, vetting, and tracking new project requests across the division.
- Execute the setup of project plans, tools, and dashboards to support project owners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leadership to facilitate project prioritization and ensure alignment with divisional and institutional goals.
Operational Infrastructure
- Manage the implementation and use of project management software across the division.
- Create and maintain templates for project profiles, plans, dashboards, and reporting.
- Develop and document procedures for project setup and provide training and support to staff.
Internal Communications
- Coordinate the content and maintenance of internal communication platforms, including the division's intranet (currently called "DAR Connect").
- Assist in the planning and execution of all-staff retreats and divisional events.
- Draft and disseminate division-wide announcements and updates to ensure consistent and effective communication.
Annual Planning & Goal Setting
- As requested, organize planning retreats and visioning sessions for departments and teams.
- Support the development of departmental goals, objectives, and multi-year annual plans.
- Coordinate the setting and tracking of individual performance goals to ensure alignment with divisional priorities.
Prioritization & Oversight
- Maintain a high-level view of the division's project queue to support leadership in annual decision-making.
- Provide operational support to ensure that resources are allocated effectively and projects are aligned with the division's vision.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit advancement.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, especially Ellucian CRM Advance or similar platforms.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
