Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
The Senior Quality Test Technician is a critical role in performing electrical testing and inspections of cable and wire harness assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specification. This role includes writing, debugging and maintaining test programs for cable testers and works closely with quality, engineering and production teams to troubleshoot test failures and documents test results.
  • Perform troubleshooting of production hardware including but not limited to circuit cards, harnesses, electrical boxes and vehicle harnesses.
  • Perform routine testing of production hardware at the box and circuit card level using automated, semi-automated bench top equipment.
  • Analyze test failures and perform root cause analysis, collaborating with test engineers to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
  • Program Cirris Test machines with limited support once trained.
  • Perform troubleshooting of production electro-mechanical production hardware.
  • Support Test Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering in the identification and resolution of production yield issues and customer returns/complaints.
  • Meticulously record and document all test results, findings, and failures.
  • Perform hand-check testing on certain hardware using appropriate meters.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment ensuring all tools are in optimal condition for accurate testing.
  • Ensure all testing procedures comply with relevant industry and company standards.
  • Assist in training other technicians in proper testing procedures and the use of all equipment and programs.
  • Final review of all paperwork and documentation and produce accurate results and reports.
  • Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization or as assigned by your leader.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED OR 5+ years of applicable electrical and/or testing experience
  • Technical certificate, associate's degree or equivalent military training or formal training in engineering, test, and quality or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficient with the use and operation of various types of test and measurement equipment includingoscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, power supplies, logic analyzers, bus analyzers etc.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with standard computer applications like MS WORD & EXCEL, email, etc.
  • Ability to learn our systems at an accelerated pace.
  • Familiarity with Cirris, DITMCO and VXI a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and use drawings and schematics for troubleshooting production hardware.
  • Proven experience as a skilled test technician, particularly with wire harnesses, electrical or electronic components.
  • Hands on experience with cable and harness testing.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and wiring harness assembly.
  • Hands on experience in wire harness design, prototyping and testing.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exhibit good judgement, common sense, leadership and decision-making skills and abilities
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Electronic and mechanical assembly experience, including the use of hand tools and soldering iron, ruler, caliper and other related tools.
  • Must have excellent vision, not color blind or color confused, and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and written work instructions.
  • Professional and effective communication skills a must.
  • IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-620 and/or JSTD-001 certifications are considered a significant asset.

Schedule - 1st Shift
5a-2:30p (Monday - Thursday)
5a-1:30p (Every other Friday)
Ability and willingness to work overtime during week and weekends as needed/required
Must be able to wear all proper PPE including protective shoes and safety glasses
