The opportunity:

The Analytics Center of Excellence within global QuidelOrtho has a strong focus on Customer Excellence, Process Excellence and driving data driven business results. The Senior Business Analyst role is an integral part of our analytics team that partners with global stakeholders to understand the business strategy, translate that business strategy into an analytics plan, execute that plan to an agreed upon timeline and collaborate to ensure insights are revealed and become action. The Senior Business Analyst will understand the data that is needed to make meaningful decisions and work across the business to gather, format, clean and present that information in a manner that facilitates use in making business decisions. The analyst will develop a deep understanding of the surrounding business processes we support. He or she will never settle for the superficial but always challenge our leaders to continually improve their data-based decision making, provide subject matter expert support and assist in interpretation of business insights for managing the business or projects. The Senior Business Analyst in analytics will master creating insights, storytelling and data visualization while demonstrating the ability to continuously learn new techniques and languages (e.g. Power BI, DAX, SQL, Databricks, Azure Dev Ops, Python) that make the data easier to use and less timely to compile and maintain. The analyst will work with our IT partners to continuously improve reporting and system design.

The Responsibilities:

  • Dashboards/metrics: collect, compile, analyze and provide business
    insights for global and local reporting.
  • Maintain existing reporting and meet timelines for reporting.
  • Create user requirements, conduct validation and build new reports to improve business outcomes.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data
    gathering techniques.
  • Create reports that evaluate the robustness of data and its effect on decision making.
  • Communicate information regarding data robustness and develop/implement strategic plans to improve data robustness.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of business processes within Field Service, the Technical Solution Center and Customer Excellence.
  • Develop working knowledge of Commercial, Finance and Customer Service.
  • Use business knowledge to assist stakeholders and managers in asking the right probing questions related to metrics, analytics and development of new reports that will support the business is achieving their goals.
  • Empower and support the organization to improve self serving capabilities

The Individual:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of related job experience
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot data integrity issues.
  • Strong ability to interpret data and to draw insights in the context of the business.
  • Strong ability to seek out and engage subject matter experts from across the business.
  • Experience in mining large data sets and detailed analytical abilities
  • Proficiency with at least one visualization platform with demonstratable ability to learn new visualization platforms and data structuring methods.
  • Independent self-starter with a demonstrated ability to understand, document and communicate business processes at both the high and detail levels.
  • Able to communicate technical complex matters to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Occasional Travel (<5%)
  • Occasional meetings outside of normal business hours to accommodate other regions. (1 per month)

Preferred Skills:

  • Business knowledge of QuidelOrtho processes, instruments and
    assays.
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience in SQL Server
  • Experience in Cost/Benefit analysis

Internal Partners:

  • VP, Global Service Excellence (there is a close working relationshipwith this role and this drives analytics priorities for Global Services.)
  • Sr Director, Global Technical Solutions Centers (TSC) and Team (there is a close working relationship and this role drives priorities for TSC and the analytics needed to support them)
  • Customer Excellence Leadership (this team drive priorities in analytics around voice of customer, training, customer service and other customer excellence priorities)
  • Global Services Leaders/Service Engineering and Team (regions) (regular interaction related to data)
  • IT Reporting and Information Services (interaction related to building datalake tables, troubleshooting and modeling.)
  • Finance (Install Base, Service Contract and Service Revenue requests)
  • Quality (Data support for cost of quality and compiling data from new sources)
  • Business Units/Sales (Linking service data to sales)

External Partners:

  • Do not directly support but we support the internal customers that directly support the external customers

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $136,000.00 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
