The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. This position works closely with the accounting and finance team to maintain compliance with GAAP and internal control standards, while helping drive process efficiency and accuracy across the organization.

DUTIES

  • Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including detailed variance analysis, account validation, and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Manage and reconcile bank statements, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts, identifying and correcting irregularities independently.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Coordinate and liaise with auditors, preparing detailed documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of internal and external audits.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and mentor junior staff.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Procurement to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing or technology industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Costpoint experience a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year plus incentive and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
