Department Summary UNT Dallas College of Law's experiential education is woven into the curriculum to develop practice-ready competencies, featuring practicum courses, an externship program, the Joyce Ann Brown Innocence Clinic, and the Community Lawyering Center. These programs provide practical experience through clinic work, client representation, legal training, and community engagement, preparing students for various legal roles through hands-on learning alongside faculty. Position Overview The Office of Experiential Education employs the Legal Assistant in a blend of law office administrative activities and academic support functions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Considerable knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to the area of assignment. Skill in making mathematical calculations and computations. Ability to keep complex records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to work without close supervision. Knowledge of safe working procedures related to work performed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree in related field and 5 years of progressively responsible office administration experience Knowledge of Canvas Knowledge of Exam soft Considerable knowledge of university policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate) Strong problem solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships Ability to work independently Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed Required License/Registration/Certifications Job Duties
