Development & Events Intern (Spring 2026) - YMCA of the North Shore

As a Development & Events Intern, you'll get real-world experience in both fundraising and event execution. You will:

Manage donor records and reports using CRM systems like Raiser's Edge

Support data-driven fundraising strategies using Excel, Google Sheets, and analytics tools

Design branded materials in Canva for appeals and events

Assist with planning, promoting, and running fundraising and stewardship events

Support donor recognition efforts and help personalize engagement through accurate data management

This internship follows a standard weekday schedule but may also include occasional off-hour commitments for special events such as road races, golf tournaments, and community fundraisers - giving you hands-on experience with large-scale events that bring our mission to life.

Are tech-savvy, organized, and detail-oriented

Have an interest in nonprofit development, event planning, or digital fundraising

Enjoy using tools like Canva, Excel, Google Sheets, or Raiser's Edge (or similar systems)

Want to grow your skills in data management, communication, and donor engagement

Practical experience in digital fundraising and donor relations

A professional portfolio of marketing, data, and event projects

Mentorship, networking, and real-world exposure to the nonprofit and development field

  Currently attending College or University (undergraduate or graduate) seeking a degree or experience in Hospitality, Communications, Non Profit concentration/major

  Must be organized and have some night and weekend availability as most events are on the weekends.

  Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

  All interns must complete and submit an application to be considered for a position with YNS.

  Interns must work with a hiring manager to submit and complete an internship learning agreement submitted to the Director of Operations or Executive Director and HR Office.

  Interns may only participate in one internship paid or unpaid within the YNS organization at a time. Requests for consecutive internships will be reviewed by the intern managers
