Office of Nondiscrimination & Accommodations Compliance:

The Office of Nondiscrimination & Accommodations Compliance (ONAC) oversees and implements the University's program for compliance with federal and state laws covering equal opportunity and civil rights, Title IX, and disability, pregnancy, or religious accommodations. ONAC oversees the development of effective policies and procedures, education and training, monitoring, communication, and responding to reported concerns. ONAC staff are responsible for compliance, complaint resolution, accommodations, information, and training.

The Opportunity:

UCF's Office of Nondiscrimination & Accommodations Compliance (ONAC) seeks experienced candidates for Director, Title IX Coordinator. The Director, Title IX Coordinator manages and oversees the University's Title IX compliance program, ensures that the program complies with applicable state and federal laws and regulations prohibiting sex discrimination, and makes appropriate changes to the program to maintain compliance and reduce the risk of sex discrimination. The Director, Title IX Coordinator provides guidance and support to the university community on Title IX and works to strengthen the culture on campus to reduce the incidence of sex discrimination.

Responsibilities:


  • Monitors and directs all reports, inquiries, and complaints regarding sex discrimination from the campus community and third parties in a timely and effective manner and coordinates a responsive course of action (including remedial measures for the parties, investigations, and collaboration with campus partners).

  • Direct and conduct independent and unbiased investigations, including preparation and finalization of investigative reports. Assess risk on a case-by-case basis and evaluate trends on campus. Formulate an appropriate response, including working with leadership and law enforcement as appropriate.

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and provide leadership to staff who serve as Title IX Investigators and Training Specialist, Deputy Title IX Coordinators, and Title IX Liaisons or whose roles intersect with the university's procedures for responding to reports of unlawful discrimination, harassment or retaliation.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and campus partners and serve as the university's subject matter expert on Title IX to ensure Title IX and VAWA compliance and strategies with regard to the University's response to reports of sex discrimination, including but not limited to the development of University Policies and procedures, leading the University's Title IX Response Team, and leading the University's Title IX Advisory Council.

  • Develop and provide consultation, education, and training to the University Community regarding the University's prohibition of unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation, as well as available resources for support and reporting options and processes. Ensure UCF's Title IX program and reporting options are well communicated and visible to the university community.

  • Assist in maintaining ONAC's case database and oversee the preparation and maintenance of subject matter data related to tracking and trending analysis, including gathering data requested in response to public records requests, litigation-related requests/subpoenas, and external agencies' information requests.

  • Monitor the University's responses and ensure implementation of processes related to requests for accommodations based on pregnancy-related conditions.

  • Other duties as assigned, including serving as a liaison and representative for internal and external committees and professional associations.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ year(s) of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Five years of experience in conducting investigations of sex discrimination allegations, including allegations of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.

  • Demonstrated leadership in program or project management.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively within a complex organization.

  • Experience working in a higher education environment or with higher education clients.

  • Strong command and working knowledge of basic and advanced principles of federal and state laws and regulations prohibiting sex discrimination (including but not limited to Title IX and the Violence Against Women's Act), as well as demonstrated knowledge of best practices for compliance with these laws as they relate to institutions of higher education.

  • Resume reflecting demonstrated skill in witness examination/interview and investigation techniques, including leading effective party and witness interviews and producing high-quality written work products.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently/efficiently manage a significant caseload.

  • Experience training individuals (small and large groups) on non-discrimination, particularly with regard to Title IX.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,830 to Negotiable. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
