The Urban Planner will provide the full range of architectural planning services on small to large, complex projects. Duties and responsibilities include: Develops and validates program requirements. Develops space programs and physical plans at a variety of scales. Participates in client and user group meetings to assist with developing or validating program requirements. Creates graphics and renderings. Develops planning and design concepts. Prepares and coordinates drawings, renderings, specifications, and design assignments under general supervision to meet project requirements. Produces accurate documents. Advances planning concepts developed by others. Creates and develops planning concepts for small to medium projects, or sections of larger projects. Coordinates planning documents with other disciplines. May assist in construction administration including responding to RFIs, preparing sketches and addenda, visiting construction sites to gather information and/or prepare punch lists, and reviewing and processing submittals. Applies knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances, and other external requirements to design concepts. Manages aspects of a project and proactively provides status reports to project leadership. Determines level of effort required for a given assignment and provide input on scheduling. Creates graphics for inclusion in marketing proposals, materials, and presentations. Proficiency using industry relevant software to produce documents such as Revit. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week. National travel to client sites may be required, less than 10% of work time.



Minimum requirement: a bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in architecture, planning or any closely related architecture or design field of study and four years of experience working on architectural planning projects. Must possess a valid American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) certification.
