Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $85,580 - $113,451.8. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you interested in Process Engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Product Engineering and Polymer Products function. As a Process Engineer, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

The Polymer Products team at S&C is expanding in new and exciting ways as S&C prepares for growth of the electrical power grid. As a world leader for manufacturing medium voltage epoxy insulation products, Polymer Products is essential to S&C. As a member of the Polymer Products team, you would have the opportunity to partner with the operations team to achieve key performance metrics; drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, mold designs, tools, and equipment through improvement and capital projects; address and resolves quality concerns observed with manufactured products through problem-solving activities; and collaborate with new product development teams through design to production startup; and contribute to process development through design, procurement, installation, and startup of processes and production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality engineering support to the operations team to support production and operational needs and initiatives.
  • Initiate problem solving activities to improve target operational metrics and resolve reoccurring operational issues or concerns.
  • Improve operational efficiency and reliability through continuous improvement of processes, tools/equipment, manufactured products and automation.
  • Write detailed specifications for the tooling/process design or equipment sought for effective translation during request for quote, procurement, build, installation and start up.
  • Effectively plan, coordinate and supervise tooling/process equipment installation and startup.
  • Conduct experiments, collect and analyze process data using statistical tools, write clear, concise engineering test reports describing the test procedures, results, analyses and conclusions.
  • Create instruction bulletins or process specification procedures for standard work practices related to manufacturing tooling/processes.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience .
  • 2-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment involving processes and tools.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, part drawings, equipment drawings, specifications and operating manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to map out projects and prioritize workloads.
  • Ability to work with people in a production/plant environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan experiments, collect data, analyze results and write reports.

Major Physical Demands:

  • Standing: Many tasks are performed in a standing position.
  • Walking: Moderate walking around the S&C campus.
  • Lifting: Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Pushing: Infrequent pushing of objects
  • Observation/Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to differentiate between colors
  • Environment: Standard office
