Job Title: Assembly Supervisor



GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB


Responsible for the daily operations of the assembly production area. Provide direct supervision to production line leaders and assemblers. This individual has exceptional knowledge and expertise in electrical and mechanical assembly and good working knowledge of best practices in general operations. Plans daily work schedules, determines priorities, allocates work assignments, and regulates production process to meet specific daily production requirements. Evaluates employee performance and provides necessary feedback. Utilizes corrective action to resolve conflict and inappropriate behaviors.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Collaborate with line leaders to provide daily line status updates to manager and leadership
  • Manage team member employment cycle from hiring to performance management
  • Develop and maintain assembly training program and matrix for area of responsibility
  • Coach and develop team members
  • Monitor and motivate team members and create strategies to boost engagement and productivity
  • Maintain employee schedules, time off requests, and collaborate with HR on STD/FMLA benefits
  • Work in accordance with Pregis safety guidelines
  • Ensures plant housekeeping meets established standards
  • Work with production planner to ensure schedule is aligned with available labor and customer needs
  • Assist team members to escalate material shortages and inventory discrepancies
  • Champion communication to direct reports for safety, quality, ECNs, in area of responsibility
  • Advocate for Design for Assembly and Continuous Improvement ideas and suggestions
  • Maintain accurate records and supplies data to the organization for analysis
  • Evaluate data and places it into documents/spreadsheets in a logical fashion
  • Aid during monthly and yearly physical inventory.
  • Ensure assembly team as appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations.



COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
  • The ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to read a schematic wiring diagram and blueprint.
  • Has working knowledge of operations/manufacturing systems, MRP concepts, and MS office
  • Is high-energy, self-motivated team player with the ability to multi-task.
  • Is detail oriented with solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Has strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Has leadership courage, self-confidence & is committed to team member feedback and growth
  • Is experienced with material flow through a manufacturing facility
  • Is willing to flex working hours to cover customer needs in each week
  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently


Quality


Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures First Aid/ AED/ CPR certified preferred



EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE


The successful candidate will possess 5+ years of progressive experience in plant operations and 2+ years of management. High School diploma, or GED equivalent desired; An Associate's degree is preferred.
